Residents of the Siberian town of Kansk were shocked when a bright orange helicopter touched down meters from their five-story apartment building, regional police said Friday.
Fearing an emergency, the concerned residents rushed to call the police Thursday.
But when law-enforcement officers arrived on the scene, they learned that the pilot had simply landed to get a bite to eat.
Krasnoyarsk police said in a statement on their website that the stopoff in Kansk, population 93,000, was unscheduled and that the private chopper belonged to an unidentified local businessman.
Police said they were looking into the incident and had sent a report to Siberian transportation officials for further investigation.
